deer park

ABOUT
Terra Infirma stretches out over the expanses of daydreamed production that have come to characterize the music of deer park. Drifting at ease between varied formal registers – production for London’s fakemink, drone shows in Parisian churches, sylvan Soundcloud ballads– deer park spins a sensibility from the meetings and departures of contemporary microscenes. Terra Infirma splits somewhat neatly into two halves. The first sees him crystallize an echoic guitar language out of traditional song forms, while the second works in repetitions and ellisions, electronic and acoustic. Dovetailing the two is a constellation of features– Chanel Beads (“Clear Sky Rain”), jackzebra (“Interlude”), Thomas Thatcher (“O My Soul”), and Ivy Knight (“Pharmacy”; “Clear Sky Rain”)— distinct pop voices that at once situate and further mystify his own.
