ABOUT
XINXIN, pronounced “chin-chin”, is a wholesome-yet-fierce, indie-pop fusion quartet that interplays to channel the energy and honesty of the universal “child within”. From the suburbs of LA and the Inland Empire, Janize Ablaza (Vocals, guitar), Stephen Reed (drums), Carlos Elias (bass), and Jonah Huang (Keyboards), strive to convey the range of the human experience through music in which insecurity, humility, trauma, and peace coexist.
The four-piece debuted their first full-length album ‘Xinxin’ with Preference Records in November of 2020, which included their singles ‘Trust’ and ‘Control’ which received heavy rotation on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. In 2023, XINXIN followed with their singles ‘In Perfect Time’ and ‘Clarity.’ Their latest single, ‘Red Flags,’ was released in fall, 2024.
In 2024, XINXIN completed west coast North American tours with both Ginger Root and Lionmilk; they also notably supported Hiatus Kaiyote on the final date of their Love Heart Cheat Code North American tour. XINXIN has historically performed extensively in the Los Angeles area at venues such as The Echo and The Moroccan Lounge, as well as highly sought after house shows.
