ABOUT

San Diego's The Crimson Curse, comprised of Justin Pearson, Jimmy LaValle, Michael Cooper, Christopher Sprague, Damean Alexander, and Evona Waschinski, was a band emerging out of the late nineties set out to create crazed, gore-splattered noise with haunting, camp-free organ work.

The band was created in an attempt to steer punk and hardcore back into a lawless but still impactful direction. As Pearson himself explained the band's origins: “Jimmy LaValle and myself wanted to start a shitty band with no seriousness, no message, just rock ‘n’ roll. We wanted to push people’s buttons and get beat up... I think we set out to do something along the lines of the Dead Boys.”

The band ultimately wasn't around for more than a few years, leaving just a couple recorded works: The “Both Feet in the Grave” LP on Goldenrod Records (released with the help of the late, beloved Mark Waters), and their split 7″ with The Festival of Dead Deer; both of which were later combined and re-pressed as a complete discography on Three One G in 2001.
