Say Lou Lou
ABOUT
Say Lou Lou, consisting of twin sisters Elektra and Miranda, made their debut in 2012 with the cult hit ‘Maybe You’ and since then have been praised globally for their dreamscape/electro inspired pop, making waves with tracks like ‘Julian’, ‘Better in the Dark’, ‘Games for Girls’ and ‘Golden Child’ and releasing two albums, as well as collaborating with the likes of Duke Dumont, Lindstrøm and Chet Faker to mention a few.
Alongside music the band have made prominent moves in the fashion world, working with brands such as Gucci, Chanel and Calvin Klein and have always been highly regarded across tastemakers including Rolling Stone, The Fader, i-D, Vogue, NME, Clash Magazine, The Guardian and The Times. In recent years, the sisters have branched into film and TV, most prominently with Elektra landing a starring role alongside Charlie Hunnam on Apple TV+’s latest hit series ‘Shantaram’.
Dust (released November 22nd) is the band’s first full-length record in 6 years, the second half of Dust Pt. 1, an EP released in April of this year. The songs chronicle a deeply layered journey through the stages of a relationship, from the euphoric beginning to the bitter end and the lingering aftermath.
Featuring ten songs, Dust intricately explores the complexities of love, longing, and self-reflection. This album not only marks Say Lou Lou’s return after six years but also sets a new gold standard in intricate indie pop, combining their signature dreamy aesthetics with velvety, vulnerable vocals for a truly unforgettable experience.
Dust was created following different creative pursuits by the twins, and the first time they had been apart for more than a month. While Elektra was filming her AppleTV+ show abroad, Miranda was working on a screenplay, creative directing and producing for several tv projects. After this physical and creative separation (and a few other life changes and intense break-ups), Say Lou Lou was reborn in the form of Dust. “Distance makes the heart grow fonder -- of each other and music!” the twins reflected.
With this new cut the band showcase their immense talent of delivering a Hollywood romance through a lens of dreamy, atmospheric melodies; their two voices intertwined in a way that could only come from a lifetime of singing & performing together. Say Lou Lou continues to push the boundaries of pop, blending cinematic and dreamy aesthetics with deeply personal storytelling.
