ABOUT

Lenka is an Australian singer-songwriter and performer whose unique blend of emotive pop and experimental sound has captured the hearts of listeners worldwide. With a music career spanning two decades, she first rose to prominence as a member of the critically acclaimed band Decoder Ring, before embarking on a successful solo journey that has seen her release multiple albums, tour internationally, and build a devoted global fanbase with feverish fandom in Asia especially. Lenka has also appeared in various Australian TV shows and films in her early acting career, including Working Dog’s The Dish.

Best known for her infectious hits like The Show, Trouble Is A Friend and Everything At Once, Lenka's music has made an indelible mark on both the charts and the silver screen. Her songs have been featured in major films such as Moneyball, Easy A, and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, as well as high-profile TV shows and commercials for brands like Microsoft, Coca-Cola, and Disney. A highlight in her career came in 2012 when part of her song The Show was performed by Billy Crystal at the Academy Awards. Her song Everything's Okay also became the theme for the US sitcom Splitting Up Together in 2018.

Lenka’s career trajectory is marked by bold artistic choices and commercial success. Her debut album, Lenka, and its follow-up, Two, both released under Epic Records, earned widespread recognition. The Show charted at number one in Thailand, Indonesia, and several other Asian countries, while Trouble Is A Friendreached the top 10 in Germany. The album Two also propelled her further into global acclaim, particularly with the hit Everything At Once, which found international radio success after being featured in a Windows 8 commercial and heading to number 1 on the radio in multiple countries.

In 2013, Lenka took an independent route with the release of Shadows, an album hailed for its delicate and experimental lullabies. The record marked a shift in her sound, reflecting her evolution into motherhood. In 2015, Lenka released The Bright Side via her own label, Skipalong Records, marking the beginning of her self-directed musical journey. The album featured Blue Skies, which later gained viral attention through a Revoke remix released on Trap Nation’s YouTube channel, amassing over 30 million views.

2017 brought Attune, Lenka's fifth album, which she co-produced and released once again through Skipalong Records. The single Heal became a standout track, further cementing her place as a unique voice in the pop world. The album was co-written with Australian singer and author Sally Seltmann, known for her collaborations with Feist.

In early 2020, Lenka released Recover and Discover, a pair of EPs that showcased her artistic reinvention. Recorded in the Blue Mountains of Australia, Recoverfeatured fresh takes on some of her earlier hits, as well as reimagined classics like Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows, RESPECT, and Mr. Tambourine Man. Discover, produced by Darren Seltmann of The Avalanches, included six brand new tracks that solidified Lenka’s ability to seamlessly blend genres and experiment with sound.

Her seventh studio album, Intraspectral dropped in 2023, exploring a range of uplifting danceable genres. Produced by Dave Jenkins Jr. in Sydney, it’s lead singles were One Moment,  Silhouette and Champion (feat. Josh Pyke). Earlier in 2025 Lenka released Magenta, a standalone collaboration with Chinese pop-star Lexie Liu, and she is now busy working on her 8th studio album in Sydney with renowned producer Tony Buchen.

A seasoned live performer, Lenka has toured the globe, from sold-out shows in Southeast Asia and China to upcoming performances in the US, Europe and Australia to support her next album. Her ability to connect with audiences of all sizes, from intimate club gigs to large festival stages, has made her a beloved figure in the indie pop scene.

"Lenka’s gentle tone wraps snugly around folk electronic minimalism and flirts with far grander, sweeping pop... Blue-skied optimism, fragments of world beat fun, all bouncy and up-beat, glossy and positive."
Rolling Stone

"She’s carved out a niche making carefully crafted and intimate starry-eyed pop, creating songs so bright and sugary they must rank among the most happy tunes in popular music."
TONE DEAF

"With a world-wide music career that has spanned fifteen years and a long list of achievements behind her, Lenka continues to stand strong within her carefully crafted niche of gentle yet bright pop music."
