ABOUT
Hirie is a Hawaiian-based singer, songwriter, and global citizen whose multicultural upbringing has shaped her lush and vibrant blend of reggae, pop, and island soul. Born in the Philippines, raised in Italy, and later rooted in Oahu, she found her spiritual home in Hawaii, where the rhythms of the islands and the warmth of community became central to her sound and vision. Drawing from her Filipino heritage, European upbringing, and Hawaiian influences, Hirie embodies a truly global artistry with music that radiates positivity, resilience, and connection.
Her self-titled debut in 2013 introduced audiences to her bright, laid-back reggae-pop style, quickly positioning her as a rising voice in contemporary island music. She followed with Wandering Soul (2016), a breakthrough album recorded with producer Danny Kalb and released through Rootsfire Collective. Featuring horns, dub textures, and guest appearances from Trevor Hall, Nahko Bear, and Nattali Rize, the record expanded her reach and earned widespread acclaim. Building on that momentum, she released Dreamer (2019), which offered an even more dynamic sound, weaving reggae, ska-rock, and smooth pop with themes of self-discovery and empowerment.
In 2020, she showcased her versatility with the dancehall-inspired single Bonfire, co-produced by Paul Couture, marking yet another creative chapter. Over the past decade, Hirie and her band have toured extensively, performing on stages at major festivals such as Cali Roots, Reggae Rise Up, and Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, while sharing bills with reggae and world music icons.
