Born in 1997, Tokyo.
Artist
At the age of 15, Daoko gained attention by posting music on Niconico Douga and in 2012, released her 1st album "HYPER GIRL -The Girl on the Other Side". Since then, her music has been featured in various projects and has gained worldwide popularity. In 2015, she made her debut with her first album "DAOKO".
In 2017 Daoko provided the soundtrack “Hide and Seek” for the NHK BS premium anime “THE DRAGON DENTIST”, which was the first TV animation series in which Hideaki Anno had served as production supervisor. Following that, she provided the song “Haikei Goodbye Sayonara” and “Cinderella Step” as an ending theme song for the TV anime series “Rage of Bahamut VIRGIN SOUL”. Subsequently, the theme song of the movie “Fireworks, Should We See it from the Side or the Bottom?”, DAOKO X Kenshi Yonezu “Uchiage Hanabi” was released. The music video for “Uchiage Hanabi” has over 400 million views on YouTube as of March 2022, ranked No.1 on iTunes song ranking for 4 weeks in a row, and ranked No.1 on multiple major music subscription services, achieving a total of 14 awards in Japan. At the end of that year, she starred in the 69th Annual Kohaku Utagassen, a prestigious music show in Japan.
As of 2022, she has released 8 original albums, and she has succeeded in providing numerous theme songs for games, commercials, and movies, as well as touring both domestically and internationally.
In 2023, she also became a vocalist for a new band "QUBIT” and is actively involved in developing their sound in parallel with her solo work. Aside from her music endeavors, she has ventured into writing, hosting events, acting, and holding an art exhibition. She continues exploring her creativity with music at its core and receiving domestic and international attention.
