Backspace is a young band who hail from a small town in the South of China. They individually abandon familial pressures to come to Beijing in search of an artistic path. The name Backspace comes from its Chinese Definition, “reverse side of space", reflective of the group's hope to find distinctive sounds in reverse of their upbringing.

Backspace avoids fixed patterns over distinctive influences, and all concepts stem from spontaneity. The band grew u listening to various wave movements and post-punk on bootleg discs, but they prefers to avoi revivalism and focus on inventing a sound of their own.

Their latest album Ants Corrupt Elephant was released March 24th on Maybe Mars, a Beijing-based record label iconic a purveyors of taste in the capital city.
